I am going to be starting a job as a veterinarian in July, and I am looking for a 2 bedroom rental house with a fenced yard. I will be working in Meridian but I would rather live in Boise, as close to downtown as is reasonable. Any suggestions?

Try South West Boise. There is allot of newer houses out that way and allot of people are looking to rent out there investment properties. It's not super close to downtown but freeway access is really close and it only takes 20 minutes to be downtown. Plus your right on the edge of Meridian and in 15 minutes you could be at work. Boise\Meridian\Eagle are all really close to each other and the area is not that large, you can be all the way across town in 30 minutes. Eagle might be another option since it's closer to downtown and you could take Eagle road straight up to Meridian. Check out Boise on google maps and you will see what I mean.

Read my threads when you get a chance. Meridian is very very nice and only a few mins from Boise. I found my place on realtor.com hope that helps.

I would look at something on the bench off of vista.. there's really charming older houses with established neighbourhoods.. and its just a straight shot downtown, as well as a straight shot to the airport and the freeway which will take you to meridian for work... just my two cents

I would second the Bench area off of Vista. When we moved here we rented in a neighborhood full of 2 bedroom houses with large fenced yards. Check the area around Vista Village shopping center. It's about 5 minutes to the Greenbelt and 7-8 minutes to downtown. If you work in Meridian and your office is off of Eagle Road, figure on 15-20 minutes at the most to get to work.
