Hi all. I was out in Idaho and Boise last summer and really loved it. I am considering a move out there from Ohio. I've been doing research and it truly looks like a great place to live. I'm in my early 30's, single, and enjoy the outdoors and staying active.

Couple of questions for the locals
1) How's the economy doing right now? I work in the civil engineering profession and am wondering if things are still doing well out there now as they were last summer. Here in Ohio the real-estate market and almost all development has come to a stand-still, and there aren't too many infrastructure projects going on because the money has dried up.

2) Is Boise a good place for a single man like myself? Are there a lot of single, educated, active women out there?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

boise's economy has been touted as one of the best in the nation considering the national economic slump. Construction has dropped off here as well as the rest of the country, but civil jobs are quite the exception. There are large highway projects happening as well as many other infrastructure projects.
Boise would be a good place for you. Single and in your 30's.. there are plenty of educated active women around here.

NO!! Bad time to come now. Civil Engineering is suffering here as much as the rest of the country. Most companies are laying off staff. See my other posts or send me a direct message.

Obviously everyone has a different story...my suggestion if you really like the Boise Area make sure you have a job before you come over.
