Norcal: homeless people with cars? That soulds like it'd be about as big a clientele as Mormons for Marilyn Manson. Most homeless people don't even have a driver's license or a bicycle, let alone a vehicle.
And, uh, FYI, overly-tinted windows are illegal as well.

For those of you who want more information about truck living, I found a great website:

Survival Guide to Homelessness: Finding a Parking Place

Many people are living typical lives and sleeping in thier cars at night. The "invisible homeless" are all around us and many of them have cars and jobs. Some people are too tied to a stereotype of a smelly, dirty, wandering, jobless homeless person. All sorts of homeless people are out there. The absence of a home doesn't make you a loser. It just adds an extra element of adventure to one's life.

MY SIL is a nurse with odd working hours. She has had to pull over to sleep at times or risk killing herself and others on the road. She just picked a side road and pulled over.

Now if it was me I would pick a spot near a police station for security and let them know what I was doing. Good luck.

If you're talking about paid access, then yeah, money is money. I was thinking mostly of those that provide free showers to truckers and a "trucker's lounge" area.

Isn't this what the Y is for? Let men come for a night's sleep and a place to clean up? Even families if necessary.
