Anyone live in or know about warm springs mesa? Is it a family friendly neighborhood with lots of preschool kids?

We still haven't heard about our eagle short sale and will be in Boise end of next week so will start house hunting again and this area came up. Hubby needs to commute to 8th street so I am comparing Eagle with Boise (North End, East and North West) and debating which one is a better fit for us.

Warm Springs Mesa is a really nice and unique housing area in the Foothills off of Warm Springs Avenue. I am sure it is family friendly but not sure if there are alot of pre-school aged children.

Yup, the Mesa is a really nice neighborhood. I had a high-school buddy who lived up there and it is pretty nice. As far as younger kids at a pre-school age, I don't know on that one for sure. I don't ever remember seeing a bunch of little kids running around the neighborhood or playing in yards up there but that doesn't mean much. The biggest consideration of living on the Mesa IMHO is the access. If the roads ice over in the winter time it can be a real nightmare as there are only a couple of access roads to the mesa and both a very steep and narrow. There is a new route that has been opened up recently that seems to be wider and more gradual though.

We live in Warm Springs Mesa, with a toddler and elementary school-aged child. There are a lot of children, and more families with young children are moving in. There's a nice park in the neighborhood, and little traffic, so it's a good neighborhood for kids.

The roads aren't really a problem. In the 4 years we've lived up on the Mesa, I've never had a problem getting up or down the hill. The main road up--Windsong--is very well maintained during the winter. It seems to get plowed before many of the other roads in Boise.
