Usually I go visit relatives for the holidays, but I have to fly or make a 500 mile drive. This year it's come down to either Thanksgiving or Christmas, and I chose the latter.
Rather than spending Thanksgiving alone, I thought I would donate my time. Are there any food banks or missions accepting volunteers on the holiday?
The Boise Rescue Mission would be a good start. Here is the link; Volunteer for the Boise Rescue Mission (http://www.boiserescuemission.org/volunteer.asp - broken link)
I was considering doing the same. I will do some more research and see what I can find.
I have not had much luck finding any openings via the internet. It might be best to call some of the organizations in the article to see if there are any openings.
The Salvation Army suggested trying the Idaho Food Bank.
