I am moving to Boise and thought with my designer background - I would open a fun, inexpensive shop in downtown Boise that had great prints, canvas wrap art, pottery, decorator items - that I know I can find at great prices? Mix from urban, tuscan, country, a complete mix..
I wanted to know if this is something Boise is lacking or wanting? Please tell me or should I save my money and work for a local home furnishings store..
There are a few of the type of stores that you are talking about in downtown Boise right now. One that has justly recently opened. There is also a high end store called Latta that carries high end comtemporary furnishings as well as accent pieces. Rent is also pretty steep in downtown Boise so that would certainly be something to consider. I would suggest visiting, moving, and checking the stores out for yourself to see if there is a niche you could fill. Good luck.
