I am moving to the Boise area. I was wondering what if anyone has any opinions on what the best schools in the area are? My spouse will be traveling for work (potato sales will be interesting, I'm sure) so location is flexible.

The best rated schools in the area are in the 83712 zip code. (ie Adams Elementary, Boise High School).

Interesting that your husband's job is on this side of the state for fresh potato sales. 99% of the potato sheds are from Twin Falls up to Idaho Falls.

Longfellow in the Northend has the International Bachelorette program that is wonderful. There is a waiting list to get in. Boise High is good but so are the others. The Northend(83702) and Eastend are all nice for closeness to downtown and walkable or bikeable to lots of places.

Kuna School District (south of Meridian) is spoken of highly by parents I've talked to. Meridian and Boise School Districts aren't bad.

A few years ago on this same forum there were a lot of complaints about Kuna schools. I have no idea either way, just interesting the change in opinion.

It is growing pretty rapidly, hence the reason for part of the change.

It's all been posted in this thread as far as schools are concerned. 83712 is also a safe bet for good neighborhoods. That being said there really aren't any "unsafe" neighborhoods in Ada County.
