I am a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) in California, while I work my way towards my RN. we are planning to move to Boise, Idaho hopefully in the coming year. I am wondering if my license will transfer to Idaho or if I will need to go through a CNA program in Idaho. Also is there Much work for CNA's in the area?

CountryGirlCNA,

From what I understand you can transfer your license from one state to another as long as you are current and in good standing in CA. You need to contact the Idaho State board of nursing and see what you need to do.

As for the job outlook I recommend looking at the Idaho department of labor website for CNA positions. Also there are four major hospitals in the area. Boise has St Luke's RMC and St Alphonsis RMC. These two are the largest in the state. In Nampa (30min from Boise) is Mercy Medical Center. 10-15 beyond Nampa is Caldwell and they have Mercy Medical center. I recommend putting them in Google and seeing what jobs are open. There is also a St Luke's in Meridian that is 10-15 min from Boise.

I hope this helps you. if I can assist you further please PM me.
Gabe

There are 2 as I believe that Mercy is now part of the St Als health system.
