Can anyone recommend an honest mechanic in the downtown/Northend areas? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post here.

Thanks in advance.

Used to sell software to car mechanics and still work with a few who refer business to my new company. A lot of looking for a good mechanic is dependent on what kind of car you drive. If you drive a Euro-car, go to Hurliss Brothers downtown. Wagon Works on Chinden is good for most imports. Personally I take my car to Boise Clutch & Repair on Fairview.

It's a little bit further west but in Garden City I can recommend Maz-Tech, they aren't just a run of the mill mechanic, they do the really extensive stuff as well (ie engine transplants, transmissions, etc). They are one of the few who will actually work on a rotary engine and will work on anything that they can find parts for (I have seen everything in there from a 911 to an old corolla). The point is that they are not just a tire and brake shop and they do know their stuff. They are located just off of 40th and Chinden in Garden City, which isn't too far from the north end. The number is (208) 385-0339
