I recently purchased a small popup camper and would like some recommendations on camping sites with hookups within 70 miles or so of Boise. I recently moved here and would appreciate your recommendations. Thanks..
Just grab a map and go. Part of the fun is exploring.
Do you want trees/mountains or do you want lake/fishing? CJ Strike is within the distance you want, but it's desert. Head up toward Idaho City if you want mountains.
Camping suggestions are like hunting suggestions: no one is going to give you the best places because who wants a crowded campsite? All you'll get are the obvious, always crowded touristy suggestions.
I'll have to think through my list and post it later but I have a quick defense for the touristy suggestions. Sometimes, those are a great place. I know Ponderosa State Park is one of the top touristy campsites but my family has gone there every summer at least once for 20 years. Yeah, its more touristy but at the same time its a nice retreat for when we want to do more biking and hanging out in McCall rather than full on camping.
But yeah, any more specifics on what you want in a campsite?
