I'm reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks now after much procrastinating and fear that I would (a) throw up from the talk of "procedures" and (b) not understand much of the biology-speak.
A complete and authoritative book on the life of Prophet Muhammad (saw) by Shaykh Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarkpuri. This is a widely read biography . The book is FABULOUS.
I can't bring myself to read it because I don't like to read books where people mistreat someone because of their color.
I actually just received two new books today that I am very much looking forward to starting over the weekend. The first is Pope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross which will be bringing me into the 9th century. I had no idea they were soon to be making this into a movie. The second novel is The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly which will land me in the late 1880's - one of my favorite eras. I always want a huge cup of steaming hot tea and a warm scone by my side when I enter into this period!
