Just read my first James Patterson books--The Lifeguard and Judge and Jury. Can't say I was overly impressed. OK--for a quick read--like maybe on a plane--but not really any depth of plot at all, in my opinion.

Rushed out to buy Pat Conroy's newest, South of Broad, yesterday. I am not far into it but am savoring it. I absolutely love his writing an this one seems very promising.

I just finished two books. Both were very good. I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti by Giulia Melucci and A Homemade Life by Molly Wizenberg are both about the authors' lives, and they have recipes that go along with each story. I am about to start South of Broad by Pat Conroy whenever the library calls to tell me that it has arrived. This is my ideal retirement......reading!!! Gosh, I love it!!!
