I recently read The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa. Although one of the two central characters is the narrator-cat, it isn’t just a cat story. Anyone who has had his or her life changed by a pet will enjoy it. I have never owned a cat myself, or as cat lovers say, I have never been owned by a cat. But the tale’s true lifeline runs on questions about loyalty, promises, understanding nonverbal communication, and being open to new experiences.

Next on the list, just borrowed from the library: The Trust Experiment, and The Dog Stars

The title’s typo is real. Two Ls instead of one, perhaps a translator’s error.

I love the illustrations in the book.

Two L's is just a British spelling of that word.
