I'm reading a very boring book and I'm not sure why I haven't stopped yet. Escape from Hell by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle was in the bargain bin at the book store and so I bought it. I think the premise interested me - folks in hell based on Dante's Inferno. Escape from Hell was apparently preceded by Inferno, by the same authors. Maybe it was better.
Interesting premise, exceedingly boring book. I think I"m finishing it only because I don't actually have much reading time and since it is a started book, it is easy to pick up when I sit down for a few minutes here and there, and because it is boring, there is absolutely no chance of it mattering if I forget where the story has been
I'm reading The Bonesetter's Daughter by Amy Tan. I like her books. This one took me a while to get into but it is very good. Her stories are always interesting and very informative.
This particular book reminds me a lot of The Joy Luck Club which is my favorite Amy Tan book to date. I find her descriptions of mother/daughter relationships refreshing. I seem to always identify with her "heroines" and because of that I revisit my relationship with my mother.
It will be out on August 12th and it looks wonderful I just watched the trailer and it looks to be so good .
