I have just started "Snpw falling on Cedars" by David Guterson.

It is a bit slow but I think it´s my fault, I should spend less time on CD and more time reading.....

Right now I'm 80 pages into Desperation by Stephen King. It is already a page turner.

RIP Mr. Vonnegut. Perhaps the greatest modern day social critic and satirist. Finally began Cormac McCarthy's newer one "The Road" Oh man, some real dark, frightening stuff in there!

Once you finish The Road, Sockeye, post your impressions on The Road book discussion. We would love to hear what you think.

I think it is interesting that readers have walked away from this book with such diverse thoughts and feelings.

I just started An Irish Doctor by Patrick Taylor. This is the first book I have read by this author, and although I am only 60 pages or so into it, it is enjoyable enough, but not too cerebral.

The most interesting aspect of the book is the Ulster dialect in which it is written. You must really depend on the glossary in the back to fill you in on what local folks are saying. It's a fun read.

I'm reading some of the same books you are...

Finished the Da Vinci Code twice, as well as Holy Blood Holy Grail

All of the Harry Potter books

Memoirs of a Geisha (love the movie too)

The Five People You Meet in Heaven and For One More Day

Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer

The Host by Stephenie Meyer

Wicked and Son of a Witch by Gregory Maguire

Words in a French Life

The Clan of the Cave Bear series (for the third time)

Mists of Avalon

Not a novel, but fascinating anyway... Destiny of Souls by Michael Newton

Below is my list of books I've read recently and yes, I liked them all.
1. Time Traveler's wife (chicklit)
2. Forever by Pete Hamill
3. The Red Tent (chicklit)
4. All of the Harry Potter Books (Loads of fun)
5. Middlesex
6. A Million Little Pieces
7. The 5 People You meet in Heaven
8. Yes, yes - The DaVinci Code
9. Memoirs of a Geisha

My all time Favorite book is Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison. I can go on and on. But the the book I keep going back to over and over again is 1-2-3 Magic: Effective Discipline for Children 2-12. I love my kids but they drive me crazy
