I'm currently reading Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster. I'm not a religious person, but I tend to find religious and spiritual books (provided that they don't get too preachy) interesting.

I'm also reading Zora Neale Hurston's Seraph on the Suwanee.

Currently Twelve Sharp - Janet Evanovich - I enjoy her books - yesterday our computers were down and I found this in the lounge. It's quiet today so I'm reading a little today too.

I just finished The Terror, by Dan Simmons - what a great book. Very long, which some people object to, but I thought it was fascinating.

Just downloaded Drood by the same writer, thank you TheTimeBaroness for the suggestions. Love all the suggestions here, just found One Hundred White Women also at my library for download, it sounds good, might try it next.

Totally agree and would add Guernsey Literary Society.
I am currently reading the God of Animals thanks to suggestions here, and am enjoying it alot but I find with books like this I have to take my time with it - and at least the bit I have read (about 1/3 ) it is rather depressing. I would love some suggestions for uplifting books next to counteract this.

A Fatal Thaw by Dana Stabenow. It is the 2nd in a series of books featuring Kate Shugak. I got the first in the series free on my Kindle and decided I would like to continue with the series.

The Human Bobby: A Novel by Gabe Rotter. Not something I'd have picked, but it's prob one of the best fiction I'd read this year. Best to read it if you don't know much about it! Fast paced, and took me by surprise.
