I just finished The Buddha in the Attic. Terrific book and made me order When the Emperor Was Divine by the same author.

Wow! I've started and finished two books -- The Buddha in the Attic and Blue Nights -- in two days. (Granted, they were both VERY short books.) And both of them were fabulous.

I read this when it first came out. I remember it being a good story.

I really liked "I Know This Much Is True" and also thought it would be rather depressing. But it was really good. IMO.

I just finished "The Rainmaker" by John Grisham. I was a little disappointed at the end of the book, as he went a different way than i thought he would after the trial of the century.
I am now reading "I am Legend" by Richard Matheson. So far, since I just started the book, it is a lot different from the movie. I hope as I get into it more and more that it retains something from the movie. But either way, it is a good read so far.

"The Devil Wore Prada". I'll probably finish it just for the story line and the subject matter, but I find it amateurishly written in the 'what I did on my vacation' style. Like, every paragraph could begin with an implied "And then . . ." It's just way too linear, without any asides.

Tonight I'm going to start on Nine Stories by J.D. Salinger. They're, duh!, nine short stories. I might not read them all in a row, but I'll read one or two tonight, I suppose. This is perfect for those short attention span days.

The book of 1 John in the Bible. I get very pensive this time of year and 1 John is a very good read for trying to sort things out and making decisions.
