Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. It's so-so. It came so highly recommended, and I'm a little disappointed.

Apparently after the fall of communism, S had a short commentary piece on evening news in Russia...but it was short-lived, people weren't partiuclarly interested in hearing what he had to say...could you imagine?? I wish I could watch/listen to him...I think he is a political prophet!
Do you have any more suggested readings for me???

In the Spirit of Crazy Horse by Peter Mattheissen.

I've never read a book which made me so unbelievably sad and so throughly p*ssed off all at the same time.

Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. I'm about 1/5 of the way in, and so far it's very very good. It's far more entertaining than I expected.
