Read a bunch from the library over the past two weeks:
Last Lawyer Standing by Douglas Corleone which was just ok.
The Fifth Assassin by Brad Meltzer not bad, some interesting history about presidential assissins.
Shock Wave by John Sandford - another Virgil flowers novel and I've enjoyed all of those.
Due Diligence by Jonathan Rush. About a financial analyst who realizes that there are some big red flags on the company that is trying to buy another co. Very good. His only novel to date.
Dancing Dogs: Stories by Jon Katz. This is a collection of short fiction, a few made me cry, most made me smile.
Just started The Intercept by Dick Wolf (creator of Law & Order). My friend also lent me one by David Baldacci - The Forgotten. That will be next so that I can return these two.
I haven't completely lost interest in Sarum and will most likely pick it up again when I finish the borrowed books.
we have similar reading styles. I read most of your 10 books except 9 and 2. Most of them I liked. Just finished "Catching Fire" and now reading:
Mockingjay, The Pillars of the Earth, Stones from the River
I loved Hegi's Stones from the River, and keep meaning to read The Pillars of the Earth, but have not heard of Mockingjay. Please come back and share what you think when you finish.

I really thought I would love Sarum after reading Ruska, which I did like immensely, but I think I got "Rutherford'd out," because not much of an impression of it stayed with me.
I didn't know Wolf was also an author. I am interested to know what you think when you finish.

This is his first novel in what is expected to be an ongoing series featuring an NYPD detective Jeremy Fisk who is with the intelligence division - mainly counter-terrorism. I'll let you know what I think but I won't be getting as much reading done as in the past few weeks while I had a break from having any foster dogs.
The new guy did raise a ruckus this afternoon when he spied the goat out in the driveway. I got him safely back in the pasture without being head butted too many times!
I tend to stop in here when I finish a book and am looking for some suggestions. I just completed The Expats by Chris Pavone, and it was very good. A bit of espionage and a lot of twists.
I have a week to get through The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom for the next book club meeting. About 40 pages into it, and am not impressed.

Oh! Thanks for the reminder that I wanted to read The Expats!
I'm re-reading Animal Dreams by Barbara Kingsolver and loving it as much as the other times I've read it.
I will forever love Kingsolver's The Poisonwood Bible but never could get far into The Lacuña. I tried one more of hers (cannot remember the name) but couldn't stand it. I'll check out Animal Dreams, Marlow. Thank you.
I finished Paradise by Toni Morrison last week. Has anyone read it? I really need to know what you got out of it. The ending totally threw me for a loop. Somebody pls say you read this book....
I finished Andrew Greeley's Priestly Sins and really enjoyed it. I have not read any of his books in several years so I have a lot to catch up on. I'll wedge his in between other authors.
