I used Google's advanced search for the quote and nothing.
My deceased Aunt's daughter lives alone and retired and she keeps the doors locked and she is the only one with a key.
I saw this quote years ago and I clipped it out.
Clip will be posted below.
The thumbnail was not that small when I added it.
I assume it enlarged when you clicked on the image.
I'll contact the newspaper and see if they have a search tool for a quote.
Our local college library searched this same newspaper, but only with the title of the book.
I may go back to the college library and ask them to search the quote.
I am no book specialist.
I assume the word used, book, literally means that the quote came from a book.

Yes, yes, it enlarged when I clicked it and was very easy to read. I wish that Google had yielded some results by typing in the quote, though. GRRRRR! Super-frustrating!
I, too, assume that BOOK means BOOK. I think that you're on the right track but I cannot, for the life of me, understand why we're unable to find a book title, in this day of Google and Amazon.
I'd be inclined to contact the newspaper that printed it and find out if, perhaps, the title was printed incorrectly.

Try the Library of Congress. Every book with an ISBN is to be found there. Some self-published books are also published with ISBNs but not all. If the quote came from a self-published book you might not be able to find it.
If you know the name of the newspaper in which is appeared and have an idea of how long ago it might have appeared, that might also help.
Not sure if this link will work, but I typed in "Hand's Back" on this site for the Charlotte Observer and it looks possibly like the beginning of the summary of the book. You have to pay for it, so I can't see more: Charlotte: Search Results
Please let us know if you do find it, I've also been scouring the internet to no avail until now.

Ha! Me too! I hate mysteries. I saw a few books in the archives that I would have clicked on that sounded like they might be the book, but alas, the archives are accessible only to paid subscribers.
