What is it with Glen Beck's paranoia and encouraging people to "hoard food"? I occasionally used to listen to him for a few minutes on my bathroom radio in the morning but he seemed to be a bit over the edge for me.

As for hating the man? the left doesnt hate him we just think he's nuts, its comforting to know the left hasnt lost the ability to acknowledge that human characteristic that manifests itself so readily in people like Beck...

I personally wouldn't spend a dime on one of 'his' books after the way he totally plagiarized Thomas Paine's Common Sense. If he has no compunctions in stealing from a founding father's works, there's not much good you can attribute to the nut.

Anyone read it yet? I just heard about it today and plan on reading it.
Despite the fact that Beck is something of a radical huckster, you should not throw the baby out with the bathwater with regard to what he has to say. There is some serious merit to it. I will be reading it when it becomes available at the library and buying a copy when it goes to paperback or there is a cheap copy on abebooks.com.

About half way through it. Kind of a cross between 1984, The Hunger Games, and...Mars Attacks.

No Zombies in it...yet. The Mars Attacks reference is to a certain salute people give in the book.
