Since y'all like that genre I'll recommend books by Martin Cruz Smith. He has written some beauts.

He wrote a series featuring Arkady Renko and the title is Gorky Park. He's the head homicide detective in Moscow and has to fight the CIA, KGB and other agencies. He is such a cool guy. I wish I knew him and the guy is a fictional character.

More books follow in the series including my favorite, Red Square.
