I like Kate Morton, enjoyed The Secret Keeper. I read in Jan through March. Out of about 10 books this year, hers were my favorites. I like Michael Connelly too but have read all of his books.

James Michener, John Steinbeck, Theodore Dreiser, Hemingway, Dickens, Charlie Carillo.

I, too, read at an early age. When I was old enough to use the library, I had a very understanding librarian (this was in Philadelphia) and although children were only supposed to take out two books week, she let me have six or seven. Even then, I read books belonging to my aunts. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn when I was nine or ten. A Girl of the Limberlost by Gene Stratton Porter even earlier.

My favorite book-related quote: Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.

Sometimes I just love ONE book from an author, like Replay by Grimwood or Water for Elephants by Gruen, and never get around to reading (or they don't have) other titles by them. But when asked about my favorite authors, I generally say the following: Stephen King, Isabelle Allende, Dean Koontz, Mitch Albom, Langston Hughes, Elie Wiesel, Ray Bradbury, and good 'ol Shakespeare. Among others, of course.
