I would like to read a book(s) by soldiers who fought in the war. I don't need any overall political summary or anything like that. It could be a book by a soldier of any country involved. Not a novel but a true life WW1 experience on the front.

I suspect you'd get a better answer in the History forum.

All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque is perhaps that best known book about WWI.

Remarque was drafted in Germany and sent to the western front where he was injured and sent back to Germany. The book is fiction but Remarque uses his experience on the front to write it.

It truly is an exceptional book. Remarque became a teacher, lecturer and author. He wrote quite a few books and the one I mentioned above is the most celebrated and well known.

I like the book but it is painful to read about the war regardless what armies were involved.
