Thread is 4 years old, so I doubt they're still looking for the book - but just as an FYI, most public libraries these days do NOT keep a record of your checkouts! Once the book is returned, unless you owe late fees, all traces of you borrowing it are wiped clean.

We do that for YOUR protection, and put the "cleaning" software in place as a response to USA PATRIOT Act. Actually, that's what gained us the title (which we proudly wear) of "Radical Militant Librarians."
