Has anyone read this science fiction/thriller author? I read his first book The Traveler, about five years ago, but haven't read the others in the trilogy, although I liked the original book.
I mention him now because I see Hollywood has option the movie rights to a couple of his books, including a book that isn't even released until next year called Spark:

A bit of an odd character, the author's name is an alias and he apparently "lives off the grid" according to his bio, which is the only information given about him. He prefers not to reveal his identity.

I read his first book, which I liked, and his second book which I didn't like. I didn't like his second book so much that I wondered if I had misread his first book. I have only a vague memory of either book but I seem to remember the second book as more of an outline than a fully fledged story and replete with all kinds of paranoid theories.

I suppose an outline would be enough to adapt to film but I was so put off by his second book that I wouldn't be likely to look for another book by him. It is interesting that he avoids the limelight and I admit I find that refreshing. I have never been one to care about a writer's personal life and have always had more interest in their stories.

Haven't read any of his books but definitely my favorite genre so after reading this thread ordered the first book from the Library. Will pick it up tomorrow. Got the second book as well. May not like it, but here's hoping. I can understand where the author might have a tendency toward paranoid theories. ; ) This genre definitely lends itself to that.
