I have wanted to read and see Naked Lunch for a long time now, but have heard many times that it's very confusing. I understand that, but I'd still like to give it a try.
However, I'm wondering if watching the movie would help me understand the book? Or perhaps it would ruin the book and was only meant for people who had read it first.
And yes, I know that the movie is not an adaptation of the book, but a semi-fictionalized account of the writing of said book.
