I couldn't find 1000 at Target, but I'm going to another location hopefully by weeks end.

Sam's had Water for Elephants for $9.17 but I didn't buy it because I was heading to Target....well...maybe now I need to go back to Sam's!!

I must say I am still dumbfounded how hard it is to get these books.

We must have chosen the top one book in library, bookstore land.

Alpha8207, don't run around too much; it will exhaust you and I need you for some other stuff.

And milliebfit, glad to see you are joining us for one of the three reads.

I, too, have located all 3 books. I have read several chapters (8, I think - They are short.) of Thousand Splendid Suns, and cannot put it down. It is a lovely, although haunting story, and I am anxious to see how it unfolds.

I'm glad others are finding, at least, one of the three selections.

Yes, have also found all three. Found Tom's book at Barnes&Noble, big price, over $26!

Lilypad, I have not found many bargains in the Barnes & Noble bookstores, but they do discount on line. I haven't ordered from them yet, but with a 25% discount I have to see what their shipping costs are.

I'll get back to you later on that.

I just went through the process of ordering online with Barnes & Noble and the 20% you save by buying on line becomes almost exactly what you pay in tax and shipping costs!!

The book costs the same online or in the store. Uh, goodbye B&N! Hello, library!

Gem, the Big Print version of Tom's book is $20. Don't know if you would have to order it or if it would be at your B&N, or you could have the bookstore order it for you.

Thank you, lilypad. Did you get the large print Boom? I think that would be great for many of us.

I will check it out tomorrow when I go to B&N.

(BTW, my #2 son lives in El Paso with his family. Are you anyplace close? Not too much is, but we do love to visit with them.)

I still don't have any of these books. I have checked B&N, Target, Sam's, WalMart...Today I picked up Water For Elephants at the Supermarket. Although I would like to read it, I don't want to buy it. I would buy 1000 Suns, but not hardcover. So, I was holding it, tyring to decide if I wanted to spend $10 on it...and wouldn't you know! ended up buying an entirely different book

The book I bought is called GirlSold about (I believe) human trafficking in Uganda. Africa hardships are much closer to my heart than circus performers!

Oh! wanted to add, I was also thumbing through The Coldest Winter, and it too looked compelling!
