I think all reading clubs have the same concerns: and keeping up is probably right up there with "my choice" of book.

I'll put your name on the list.

Happy Holidays and welcome to City-Data.

tigerlily, thanks for that link. Is the shipping very expensive? WAR AT HOME, BOX CHILDREN both look good. I love memoirs. BC seems to read like one. WAH is a semi autobiography? Does that mean its partly true? The only one I've read is "Prayer". I couldn't stand it and felt like it was a big waste of my time. I couldn't stand him "screaming" all the time.

I'm going to experiment and see if I can do a poll with all our suggestions, and then post them in a new thread by the middle of this week.

I'm also going to DM all the signed up, tentative members to alert them about the poll, and see if they are on board and still interested.

If all goes well, we'll give ourselves some time to buy/borrow the book(s) for our first read.

Any suggestions for a time-table?

I have 4 pages around here somewhere of books that I'd like to read. (at least I did, until my son "cleaned".) Of those listed, I've read
Prodigal Summer
The Poisonwood Bible
To Kill a Mockingbird
Fall on Your Knees
The Glass Castle
Prayer for Own Meany
Hopefully, I'll find my list sooner or later.

I just did a practice poll. We have 29 books on the list, and can only have 30 on any given poll.

I can edit it, but I'd like to firm it up in the next couple of days, and have us vote and close the poll on January 7.

I've read quite a few on the list, including some you mentioned, Jess5.

And I do hope this works for us all!!
