anyone read 'Only Yesterday' by FL Allen?

I am reading it for the second time. Good book on the 20s. Maybe someone can suggest and equal or better book on the 20s or 30s but Allen's book is very interesting.

Required reading when my younger brother was in high school; Allen also wrote a sequel (about the Thirties) called Since Yesterday.

Bill Bryson's One Summer, focused on 1927, would likely fit the bill as well.
