If you have never read Constance O'Day Flannery, give her books a try. Lots of paranormal things - time travel, ghosts, shape shifters, and 'angels' - happen in her romance novels. Easy to read.
I have every single one of her books! Took me a while to collect all them, but I enjoy reading them again and again.
I've been working my way through Kay Hooper's Bishop / SCU series. I read about her latest, Haunted, in Bookpage and was intrigued and tried it. I then went back to Haven, and followed that up with Hostage. She writes her books in trilogies, although the stories are not interwoven.
After finishing those, I've gone to the beginning of the SCU series and am currently on Book 8.
SCU stands for Special Crimes Unit, which is part of the FBI, in which each member has some type of psychic ability.
Karen Moning's paranormal / urban fantasy 'Fever' series. Set in Dublin, Ireland and heavy on Irish folklore, but the plot is tight, story fast paced, and the series have been completed in 5 books so you can read back to back from start to finish.
Not a series, but The Mirror by Marlys Millhiser is a classic.
I read this book at least once a year! My paperback copy has yellow pages and the front cover fell off. I have the book in a hard cover to protect it as much as I can.
I know the book by heart, but every time I read it I find a tidbit that I missed. This book is one of my oldest and dearest "friends", and I look forward to the visit every year.
