Blow Fly... if it were the first one of her books I'd read, it would be the last. Such a struggle to finish it and finally, I skipped to the end since I thought continuing to read was pointless. I'll be hesitant in the future to pick up one of hers without a recommendation.

You're apparently not alone. I happen to love Cornwell's novels, though. Really enjoyed Blowfly, but the plot makes more sense if one reads her series in order. Blow Fly (2003) - Patricia Cornwell Patricia Cornwell
