Most books I just borrow from the local library but I've gotten some terrific deals on 'used' books that look brand new from various sellers on Amazon when I've wanted specific books on race-cars or airplanes.

My tastes are eclectic and sometimes go far away from mainstream, so (regrettably) Amazon is often my best option, although I do try to use particular booksellers that use the Amazon front. Living in the buckle of the Bible belt, bookstores have a FAR more limited selection than in cosmopolitan areas, and libraries are worse yet.

Amazon for ebooks; and "The Works" or "Waterstones" for technical books, or cheap reference books. (I try to shop local in order to retain these valuable High Street bookstores)

I was reading through this forum, bought a book that was recommended, decided to do some price comparison on a second book, which was Hamilton by Ron Cnernow. I decided to buy it as an audio book so I could listen while driving. I've done some book comparison shopping in the past, so I was familiar with most of the sites recommended here.

First of all, there were no attractive options for a used copy. There were several new copies cheaper than any used.

It turned out that a new copy from a third party seller was the cheapest option for a total price including shipping of $15.58. Bookdepository was second at $15.72. Abebooks was third at $15.82. Amazon Prime at $16.03 was 4th, but I would have to add $0.96 estimated sales tax, which would still put Amazon Prime in 4th place. Some of the others suggested here were Booksamillion at $28.97 and Barnes & Noble at $20.98.

BTW, I highly recommend this site for doing a quick comparison: http://www.bookfinder4u.com/

Where do I buy books? From either my neighborhood B&N, Tattered Cover, a fantastic local bookstore in the city, or a bookbar, also in the city.

Amazon (usually for my Kindle) and Barnes and Noble. I also buy at Target when looking for the more popular, mainstream titles.

Buying directly from the publisher is another option (I've only done this a couple of times so far), because you get the book a couple of days earlier than Amazon. However, authors have said that buying their books on Amazon helps their bottom line because of the way Amazon tracks direct purchases. I just get SO impatient when one of my favorite authors releases a new book!

Default Does Goole Play Store run popular in U.S.A.?

I usually buy e-books in Google Play Store. I can read it on my PC or smartphone. Besides, I can read books which are not translated to Russian language in Google Play Store. And if your are reading a book in foreign language, you can translate any piece of text immediatly with Google Translate.

Does Goole Play Store run popular in U.S.A.?

What are benefits of Amazon.com e-books in comparison with Google Pla Books?
