The Best American Short Stories 2016 (novel, discussion, favorite)

Any other short story lovers here? I really enjoy the short story genre - I know that it isn't for everyone, but ever since reading "The Lottery" in elementary school, I was hooked. I was one of those young girls who read CONSTANTLY with multiple books going at one time, but when I think back, it is the short stories that I remember most vividly.


Has anyone else read this year's compendium?

If you love short stories, check out George Saunders. He has several short story collections though his latest book is actually a novel (his first).

The one story that really stuck in my head was "Cold Little Bird" about the ten year old boy who decided that he no longer needed or would tolerate his parent's affection.

This wasn't my favorite Best American Short Story collection - some years are better (and by better, I mean more my taste) than others.
