Personally, I love his work; poems and prose. I get the chills while reading both. but i think his poems, in all, are better. Any thoughts?

I've read most of his short stories, some poems, and essays. Poe is an excellent author of world class reputation. His works are full of strange images, unusual people in bizarre situations. Fall Of The House Of Usher is fascinatingly macabre and a pleasure to read, the movie was good as well. My absolute favorite story is Hop Frog.

I love Poe, though I haven't read any for years.

My favorite was the movie made of The Raven, with Vincent Price and Peter Lorre! Far from being a dark and brooding thing, it was an incredibly funny farce. But I like reading the dark and brooding, also. As for chills, he's right up there with Lovecraft.

One of my very favourite American authors. I love his macabre tales and poems.
We did "Fall of the House of Usher" and " Murders in the Rue Morgue" at school and he was incredibly popular with all the class.
I love "The Raven" too.
