Enjoy.
Thank you, ontheroad. I will have the opening post up by noon and BlueWillowPlate will soon follow that.

It will be an intricate book to discuss. It will be very enjoyable, I'm sure.

Thank you, njkate. Both you and tulegirl enjoyed Great Granny Webster and that recommendation is good enough for me!

Good morning. Been out with technical difficulties.

Got a chance to finish "The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana" by Umberto Eco.

I was sooooooo disappointed with the ending. Leaves the reader with absolutely no closure at all. I think he just used the book to get his personal thoughts in print.

Started "My Best Friend's Girl" last night... cried twice already. Looks like it's going to be a good one.

Have fun with your book discussion!

I hope everyone is well and enjoying the change in seasons.

My calendar is marked for our next book discussion: June 2.

It is nice to see our gloomy winter slide so easily into spring, ontheroad.

I am almost finished with The Wall and am mermerized by the detail of Haushofer's writing. I am looking forward to the discussion.

I am almost getting ready to pack, but have just about finished the book and will return it to the library before I leave. It had been a while since I read it... at the time I read it, it made a big impression on me, obviously . Now that I am reading it again, I remember why. I can identify with so many things in the book! And I have the Road on my stack of books to read...

Thank you ontheroad
I will check in as much as I can...
Planning on leaving lots of room in my luggage for books, I'll have to hit the used book stores and flea markets with the Euro/US$ these days!

Yes, it is good to even have a second suitcase. I almost asked you to get me something in Germany....but resisted the temptation to add rather than decrease my stuff and knew it would be a burden.

We'll talk soon!

If it isn't anything bulky or heavy, I'll be happy to get it for you...

Thanks, katzenfreund, really appreciate the offer--but I'm going to resist myself and perhaps I'll get to Germany myself in the not too distant future. My daughter is talking about taking a job there.
