I'm thinking along the lines of the sliders TV show or that jet li movie "The One". I don't mean alternate history where there is nobody from our world or a world with more or less the same history as ours that crossed over into it.

And not one where there is only one world getting crossed into(though there can be one world where most of the conflict happens).

the only one I have found was The walls of the universe Which was a GREAT book BTW.
Basically I'm looking for something like as if turtledoves books were all shortened and smashed into one book with atleast one main character going to all those worlds.

I've been searching with not much success.

The Walls of the Universe has a sequel, in case you didn't know. It is called The Broken Universe.

Yep, I read it and it was great, it made me look at sliders in a new light, because that method of sliding was taking a huge risk, and it made sense that other dimensional travelers were horrified that the main characters did not travel in air tight vehicles. in fact I would go as far to say that random dimensional travel should be done in some sort of space ship because there are likely realities where earth never formed or may not have a breathable atmosphere or got knocked to bits by an asteroid or comet.
