I've noticed buying books seems to be on a decline lately. I still shop at Indie stores and I enjoy it. Nothing is better than shopping in an Indie bookstore.

I buy a lot off Amazon, but I also shop at the locally-owned independent bookstore.
Amazon has hit the chains hard. Indies, not so much.

Oh, yes!!! I don't have one near me here at home, but when I travel hunting down independent bookstores is one of my favorite things to do! My husband gives me a hard time because I end up flying home with books that he says I could have ordered on-line and had delivered, but he, too, enjoys the camaraderie of a good little bookshop.
I buy used books from an indie chain that has several locations. I don't buy new books from one. I would like to support them but I don't want to make a special trip to go to the store and I can usually find them cheaper online.
I mostly use the library these days or buy digital books off Amazon when they are on sale for 99 cents. However, there are some good indie stories in Denver that have carefully curated offerings that I like. I also go to used bookstores.
Yes, although there are none very near me. Still, whenever we go to a small town, I will always check out the local bookstore and will invariably buy something.
If I found the book as a result of looking around at the bookshop, then I buy it from them. I still buy most of my books from amazon and Costco, because it is just so darn easy and they are always by far the cheapest. I support the local bookshops when I can and I'm fine with paying a couple dollars more to support them. But if it's a new release hardcover, and we're looking at a $15 (or more) difference in price, I have a hard time justifying it.
