Borders was a publicly traded company until dissolution. Borders filed Chapter 11 (reorganization) and a private equity firm made an offer for the firm. The offer was either rejected or withdrawn, the Chapter 11 was converted to Chapter 7 (liquidation) and Borders went away.

Yes agree. I went into Barnes twice over last month or so and almost every book I wanted they didn’t have. They’d tell me to order it online at B&N. I wanted to walk out with the books in hand. They had one book out of six. Get rid of those aisles and aisles of toys and put in more books.

Our second son just quit B&N as a store manager in Chicago. He was vague as to why when I ask him but he's found a much better job with another company (MUCH better job!) already.
