I've actually found that the majority of books I read are under 400 pages. Some might appear much longer because they might have 150 pages of notes and an index. But most frequently the narrative does clock in under 400.

I really enjoyed this novel: Our Short History (no pun intended; it's 353 pages) by Lauren Grodstein.
Have tissues handy -- I remember crying.
It's on sale for $1.99 today on Amazon.

Started Olive, Again (Olive Kitteridge #2), Elizabeth Strout (2019) yesterday and am about 1/4 way through - really like it... only 289 pages.

I liked it as well as the original. Olive is one of my favorite characters.
