I've decided to improve my perspective of the world by regularly reading a couple of newspapers instead of going to the same websites and forums over and over ... like this one.
But I digress. I already have a NY Times subscription. Any other suggestions? I lean left, but really I'm just looking for interesting articles about the world. Non-American is a plus. But must be English language.
The Guardian is hard to beat as a companion to NYT, very different perspective but equally outstanding journalism.
There's been a steady rise of the Indian news sources in news feeds, and while I appreciate the very different perspective on US/world issues, the writing is often... junior high level and a bit hard to slog through.

I subscribe to the Wash Post (from near there)... but I also scan the NYT.
Beyond the papers I mostly read from the News Services (AP, UP, Reuters, NPR, JTA, )
and the Brits: BBC, Guardian and some magazines Atlantic, Reason, Newsweek, etc.

Funny how they have a US edition. Would think there's enough sources and angles for that from US news outlets.

Second this as well.
When there's a hurricane, I go to NHC/NOAA, not local news or a secondary site that spins it for the yokels. Similarly, if you want real journalism that isn't bent for an audience or bound to a particular medium, the news service sites are a great place to find it.
