Actually there is a great "sum it all up" in the front of the book that really brought it all back for me.

I just finished reading the book and I thought it was the best one of the three. It was hard for me to put down, I even wanted to read it when I was driving. I guess I should pay more attention to what is going on with the author because I was towards the end and I couldn't figure out how Eragon was going to beat Galbatorix in about 30 pages. Well, imagine my surprise when the last page informed me that the series was now going to be 4 books instead of a Trilogy! I was so thrown, I was hoping that this would be the end, I don't want to have to wait another 3 years to find out what happens!

yeah, it was announced last year (I think, or early this year) that it would be a saga instead of a trilogy. CP, as you've noticed is a bit long winded (mean that w/ no disrespect, I like the series, but yeah, "Eldest" could have been seriously edited down!). rumor (really, just rumors at this point) is that the fourth book is mostly done as the original 3rd book was just cut in half. it may be called "Empire" (possibly going back to the "E" titles) and may have the black dragon (Shruiken??) on the cover, or the possibly rumoured new male hatchling from the other egg (supposedly a green dragon). I do love the artwork for this series and won't be sad to see another gorgeous dragon on a future cover

ugh, I'm gonna have to squish this book into my already packed reading schedule before I start getting spoiled!

Okay - I am about half way through now and I don't really want to go back and read the others - but I can't remember why Brigit has a grudge against Roran for the death of her husband?
