Anyone into the Dexter series, which the tv show is based off of?
I really like them! The writing is very good and I like how satirical and witty it is while touching on such dark subjects.

Dexter is a fantastic series. I haven't read any books on which the series is based though.

I didn't know the series was based on any books. Is the tv show true to the books? I have seen the first three seasons of the show, and I'm a huge fan. Great tip, I will check those books out.

I have read all three books and, though each was better than the previous, I felt they really were not that good. The descriptions were excellent and the author gets an A + for being able to create a mood, etc. but the plots seemed hastily thrown together and seemed to fizzle out at the end of each book. Writing the ending is the hardest part and I felt the endings were rushed and not completely satisfactory. However - I LOVE the series on Showtime and I think it is very well written. The character development is amzing to watch with each new episode.
