I recently travelled to New York and had to take a cab several times to get around.

Often, I find a book on the back seat which I tend to browse and quite recently I found a popular book called Amongst The Marines by some limey called Steven Preece. I say it was popular because I found in on the back seat of several cabs.

Anyway, this book was very different, the guy seems like andy McNab with attitude. The story was different it was an inside personal account about s*x, violence amongst the ranks and antics that went on in the 1980's. A very violent era it would appear. The book played with my emotions, fluctuating between fear violence, disgust and total hilarity.

Has anybody else read any books similar to this, as I would be keen to pick up another on my travels.

Looks like he's wrote a sequel, so I'll have a look for that. I took a cab today, but unfortunately no sign of this book on the back seat, so I may need to spend a few dollars.

If there's a film out there or any more books by this guy, I would be pleased to be pointed in their direction.
