The book PLAINSONG by Ken Haruf is on my list of all time favorite books. I see that a film version of it will be on the Hallmark Channel Saturday (March21?)at 8 PM CST. I hope I am not disappointed in the movie but if it is even close to the book it will be worth spending a couple hours in front of the tube.

Loved the book. I'm a little wary since Hallmark did a horrible job (IMO) with Saint Maybe which is another favorite.

I just finished watching PLAINSONG on the Hallmark Channel. I think they did a great job with it.
It followed the book fairly close except the geographical setting in the movie was about 50 miles farther West than the setting in the book. Of course they had to have some great shots of the Mountains so I guess it is understandable.

I thought the film was mediocre. The two old men were not believable. Instead of looking like men who worked hard all their lives, they just looked like somebody phoned up central casting and said "send over somebody old".
