What is your favorite Carl Hiaasen book?
I am in charge of choosing our June book for my neighborhood book club and want a 'light' book.

I accidently posted this in the wrong section earlier today. Hopefully this is the correct section.

Thanks!

My favorite Carl Hiaasen is Skinny Dip, it is about this guy who tries to kill his wife, she survives, and torments him. This was the first Carl Hiaasen book that I read, and I loved it. They are all pretty good though..........Skin tight was funny as well.

I've only finished two - Sick Puppy and Basket Case. I liked both of them, but if I had to pick it would be Sick Puppy. Started Lucky You[/i] awhile ago, but haven't finished.

"Native Tongue," to me, was the most over-the-top book of his. An incredibly funny read. I like all his novels, but I think the most recent ones have lost some of their raw and subversive energy. Either that or the plot is so similar that I'm become inured to them.

I have to agree. It was my first Carl Hiaasen book and it was so much more engrossing than my subsequent reads. I would have to say Skinny Dip would be my second favorite.

I've read 2 of his earlier works---Powder Blue and Trap Line. I thought they were both pretty good "thrillers" and perfect summer beach reads...Dickens or Thackeray, Hiassen ain't...but he's not bad.

It's hard to go wrong with any of his books, but I'm partial to Skin Tight and Sick Puppy.

You might want to consider Elmore Leonard, also. Hilarious.

I'd pick Tourist Season for a book club.

I like Striptease best. Much better than the movie, of course.

No kidding. How did they manage to combine a Carl Hiassen book with Demi Moore gettin' naked and make a tedious movie?
