Looking for a good book (fiction) to read about animals. Any suggestions?

Watership Down

One of my all-time favorite books. A true classic.

Where the Red Fern Grows

Nothing like a story about a boy and his dogs!

This just made me smile - my younger brother, when he was really little, always used to ask me to read him "Able's Feebles"

I loved "Aesop's Fables" when I was little.

The Narnia series are my absolute favourite children's books.

I'd also recommend:

Watership Down: Amazon.com: Watership Down: A Novel (9780743277709): Richard Adams: Books

White Fang: Amazon.com: White Fang (Scholastic Classics) (9780439236195): Jack London: Books

Tschiffely's Ride: Amazon.com: Tschiffely's Ride (9781873429709): A. F. Tschiffely: Books

Oh and I LOVED Elyne Mitchell's "Silver Brumby" series when I was younger:

If I had to pick one, it would be White Fang. A great book.

Has anyone read Traveller? By the same author as Watership Down, I keep thinking I should read it.
