I have read a handful of his books. I cant say that I loved any of them but didnt hate any of them either.. They are a decent read. Choke was pretty good. Invisible Monsters wasnt very good. Haunted was creative and entertaining.

Snuff was horrible. just bad writing IMHO. I liked Lullaby, Choke, and Fight Club. haven't read anything else though I heard Survivor was great.

I like them myself, certainly not for the squeamish. They can really shake your perceptions about things.

Haunted was my favorite, Survivor second, but I like most of them pretty well (haven't read Snuff yet).

Invisible monsters was about my least favorite as a story, but had some really great lines.

I read "Lullaby", I thought it was rather immature. Way too over-the-edge.

His newest, Pygmy, seems to be intentionally difficult to read. It's written from the POV of an immigrant terrorist who also seems marginally educated. Extremely difficult to get past the first five pages. I have no desire to go back to that book. Maybe that's what he's looking for.

I did discover Amy Hempel via CP's website. Amazing writer. I've never used that word to describe a writer, but she blows my mind.

Never read him. I guess I made the mistake of seeing the Fight Club movie, which I thought was silly, pretentious, and incredibly over-rated. Is the book any better?

Whatever he was going for, it didn't work. I read one chapter, and returned it to the library. It seems he wrote that book in a month-long drinking binge. I would love to know if anyone made it through the whole book.
