While I love Tami Hoag (and Stephen King and Janet Evanovich) her writing really is nothing like Janet's nor is she Stephen King's wife. Her books are dark and gruesome and Janet's books are light, hilarious and on the raunchy side.

I haven't found any quite like hers, however I do laugh quite a bit at Mary Higgins Clark's books with Alvirah and Willy, the lottery winners. Nora Roberts as JD Robb series are a mixture of funny and gruesome.

Harlan Coben has a string of books featuring a character named Myron Bolitar, and in my opinion, he has a colorful cast of characters similar to Janet Evanovich. He's a great author, and these are very entertaining books, right now I'm reading Long Lost. There are nine so far. I am really glad I 'discovered' him as an author because he has some great stuff.

Tabitha King is Stephen King's wife--not Tami Hoag.

Stephen King's wife Tabitha King is a published author. She has published seven novels, five of which are set in fictional Nodd's Ridge, Maine circa 1960. Her characters spring to life from the instant you meet them. You know her characters inside and out and become involved in their lives. Good reading if you can find her books. Tabitha's novels are nothing like her husband's. Of course I am a big fan of husband too.

I sent you a rep. But try the hannah swensen mysteries by joanne fluke. I read the first one because i was bored but i actually really like them now. Hannah Swensen Mysteries by Joanne Fluke--Home Page is the authors website. As a bonus at the end of the book it comes with delicious dessert recipes
