I need help finding an old children's book. This is complicated, but this is the story. I have an 18 year old cat named Cupcake. I named her when I was six, apparently I named her after a character from an old book we had (according to my parents).

I don't remember this book, but my parents read it to me very often. It's about a child who helps someone (grandparents or possibly parents) rake leaves or just play in them. There is a dog in the book. The dog's name is Cupcake.

This book must be at least 18 years old, because that's the age of my little old lady cat. I know it's not a lot to go on. If anyone as suggestions or additional questions please email me directly (I'm going to post this question at a couple forum and won't be able to remember passwords for all these sites). Hopefully there are some parents or grandparents who read this to their kids and remember it.

Not sure if this is the one you're describing, but try "Up and Over" by Richard L. Allington. It was published in 1988, so it's definitely within the time frame.

(I also sent you an email.)
